Moab Utah

We went to Moab because there are two National Parks in the area. Both Arches and Canyonlands are near Moab and will be covered in another post.
The picture at the right shows our campsite for the week we explored the parks and the surrounding area. This is a BLM dispersed camping area (meaning free) north of Moab on Klondike Bluff. Notice the number of other campers in the area not to mention the background scenery. I saw one other camper during the time we occupied this site. They were a half mile away on top of the next bluff.

This is sunset over the bluff our first night at camp.

Most of what we did was drive around on the passable jeep roads and explore the area. This is a shot of some of the landscape near our camp.

We did get out and wander around a bit.

Across the highway on Mill Valley road lies this small excavation site that is full of Dinosaur tracks. We spent quite a while there and took way more pictures than I have room for in this post.

This is but one example of the Dinosaur tracks.

Here's another from our day on Mill Valley Road.

After a week on Klondike Bluff, we moved to the south of Moab and found another BLM area on Yellow Circle Road. After driving through the Prarie Dog town, we found a nice secluded spot to set up camp. We Only stayed at this camp for two nights because there were no passable jeep roads to explore. The little guy to the left and a young Jack Rabbit that showed up next the camper one morning was about as exciting as it got on Yellow Circle.

There is much more to show and tell about our stay in Moab and I will do just that in a future post, but for now we say so long to Moab and move down the road a piece.

We are C & L On  The Road, see you next time.
